Hunky Dory

Our quest for pils

We are not a 100-year-old brewery

No family crest. No founder in an oil painting. Just a few friends in Asheville who thought beer should be fun, cold, and honest about what it is.

Stainless steel brewing tanks in a small brewery

It started with one good pils

In 2019, we spent a year chasing crisp. We got it, then stopped fiddling. That beer became the Pils, and it is still the one we drink most.

Then someone asked for something with a bit more going on, so we toasted some malt and made the Rouge. Slightly more interesting. Later we figured out a 0.0 that actually tastes like beer, which took longer than we like to admit.

Three beers. Zero pretension. It is fine, really.

About the brewery.

Who started Hunky Dory?
A few friends in Asheville who thought a pils should be fun, cold, and not take itself too seriously. We brewed one in 2019, then made two more.
Why the name Hunky Dory?
Because everything is fine, really. The name fit a brewery that makes honest, easy beer and does not pretend to be a hundred-year-old institution.
Are you a big brewery?
No. We brew small, ship cold, and obsess over the boring details so you do not have to. That is the whole operation.
Where can I find you on tap?
In and around Asheville, with a slowly growing list of bars elsewhere. If your local does not pour us, ask the stockist form to fix that.
